Are You Being Served?

Posted on Updated on

Servant's bowlDo nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…

~ Paul, to the Church at Phillipi

What motivates you to do your job well?  Profit motive? Pride in a job well-done? Career ambition? Family? Reputation?

Are you motivated at all? Do you not care about doing it well and simply go through the motions to appease your boss, your spouse, or just cash out and go home?

Ideally, we find the job that God put us here to do.  I am blessed to have a career that allows me a multitude of ways to serve others and thereby serve God.  Whether I am litigating a lawsuit, defending a criminal charge, counseling and representing a juvenile in delinquency court or a parent in neglect proceedings, or simply offering up counsel or self-help advice, I am always striving to do so as an act of service.  In fact, I frequently serve my prospective clients by sending them to an attorney that is better suited to their needs, such as when folks come to me seeking representation in divorce and child custody, will and estates, or real property matters.

How may I serve you?
